Thousands gathered in Rome to rally against same-sex civil unions
On January 30, tens of thousands of people gathered in Rome to protest against a same-sex civil union and adoptions bill debated in these days in the Italian Senate. While the Cirinnà bill advocates affirm that such law is the first step in terms of gay rights, supporters of heterosexual marriage say that such law would strip families of their traditional meaning. Italy is the only country in Western Europe without a law that protects same-sex couples.
